Keep Pearland Beautiful (KPB) is a nonprofit organization focused on environmental stewardship, community beautification, and sustainability through education and local initiatives. One of its signature events, the Trashion Show, celebrates eco-conscious fashion by challenging participants to create wearable designs using recycled and repurposed materials.
As the Event Coordinator for the Trashion Show segment, I managed the planning and execution of this featured experience from start to finish. I coordinated directly with designers, models, media, and volunteers to keep all elements organized and aligned. My responsibilities included building out timelines, managing show flow, and supporting participants throughout both the preparation process and event day.
In addition, I developed and created social media content to support event promotion, helping drive awareness, increase engagement, and highlight the creativity behind the Trashion Show.
This role required both creative direction and logistical coordination, resulting in an engaging, well-executed experience that supported KPB’s mission of promoting sustainability in a memorable way.

Trashion Show designers and participants brought together for Keep Pearland Beautiful’s sustainability-focused fashion showcase.

Allisandra Martinez, a 17-year-old junior at Robert Turner College and Career High School, was awarded Grand Prize for her standout design. Currently pursuing her associate’s degree in Veterinary Science, she plans to continue her education in Environmental Studies or Wildlife Conservation.
Her piece, inspired by the “metal head” theme, embodies a fallen angel guardian aesthetic. The design was constructed entirely from recycled materials, primarily aluminum from soda cans collected by family and friends, along with various hardware elements that created its structure and intricate detailing.
Through her work, Allisandra demonstrates how discarded materials can be transformed into something powerful and unrecognizable from their original form. Her design serves as a moving statement on sustainability, encouraging more intentional thinking around waste and environmental responsibility.
This social media post was created to recruit designers for Keep Pearland Beautiful’s Trashion Show. The goal was to clearly communicate event details, encourage participation, and attract creative individuals interested in sustainable fashion design.
This promotional post was developed using imagery from the Stella Roberts Recycling Center to support marketing efforts for Keep Pearland Beautiful’s Trashion Show. The content reinforced the event’s sustainability focus, helping to visually connect recycling education with the creative outcomes showcased in the event.
